How Batched Withdrawals Work for Distributions

Overview

To ensure efficient and accurate payout processing, addy uses a batched withdrawal system for handling distributions. Rather than triggering individual withdrawals for each distribution event, a single batched withdrawal is initiated at the end of each business day.

What Does This Mean?

  • Any distributions issued during the day will be included in a single withdrawal batch processed at the end of each day (11:00 PM Pacific Time).
  • Each batch will be processed with the Financial Institution the following business day.
  • You will not see separate withdrawals for each distribution — instead, one combined withdrawal amount will reflect all distributions issued that day.
  • Once a batched withdrawal is queued after 11:00 PM PT, it cannot be canceled.

Key Details You Should Know:

  • Only available funds are withdrawn:
If a portion of a distribution is withdrawn manually or used to reinvest before the batched withdrawal occurs, that amount will not be included in the batch. The system will only withdraw the remaining available amount from the investor’s wallet.

  • Accurate representation of funds:
Distributions in the addy system are tracked with precision — down to the 8th decimal place. However, bank withdrawals can only be processed to 2 decimal places (i.e., cents).
By using batched withdrawals, the system ensures a more accurate representation of the actual cash payout, minimizing confusion that could occur if withdrawals were processed per individual distribution.

  • Non-cancelable once queued:
Once the daily batch is queued at 11:00 PM PT, it becomes a locked transaction and cannot be reversed or canceled and will be processed first thing the following business day.

Why We Do This

  • 📈 Improved Accuracy: Ensures cash withdrawn aligns closely with total distribution amounts despite system-level precision and banking limitations.
  • 🔄 Operational Efficiency: Reduces the number of individual transactions, simplifying reconciliation and fund transfers.
  • 💰 Investor-Friendly: Ensures investors receive the right amount without over- or under-withdrawing due to rounding or transaction sequencing.

Example

Let’s say an investor receives three distributions in a single day, totaling:

  • $10.00456789
  • $5.67891234
  • $2.31789654

Total tracked amount: $17.00137677

If a batched withdrawal is done at end-of-day, the system will withdraw $17.00 — truncated to the nearest cent payable and based only on the remaining available balance in the investor’s wallet.
