How to Set Up and Process Wire Transfers as a Card Issuer

What you need to provide to accept wire transfers and manually credit member wallets through addy.

Overview

If your cardholders want to credit their card using Wire Transfer, you'll need to provide your wire instructions and be ready to manually credit each wallet once the wire is received.

This setup allows:

  • Members to fund your issued card by sending a wire transfer.

  • Your team to monitor your wire account and credit wallet balances accordingly.

  • You to manage support and communication for any wire-related issues.

What You Need to Provide

Here’s what we’ll need from you to get started:

Field Description
Card Issuer Name The name of your organization. This will be shown to members for support and authorization purposes.
Card Issuer Address Your business address. Used for documentation and compliance purposes.
Support Email Address Email address for members to contact if they have issues or questions.
Receiving Bank Name The name of your financial institution.
Bank Account Number The account number where funds should be deposited.
Transit / Routing Number Required to direct funds to your branch (Canadian or international format).
SWIFT / IBAN Code (if applicable) Needed for receiving international wire transfers.
Currency Currency in which you will receive wires (CAD, USD, etc.).

💡 Double-check that your wire instructions are accurate and accepted by your FI to avoid delays or rejected wires.

How to Credit the Member for the Amount Received

Once you’ve received a wire, follow these steps to manually apply the funds to the member’s addy wallet:

1. Confirm and Match Wire Details

  • Look for the addy Member ID or full name in the wire reference or memo line.

  • If the wire memo is unclear or missing, reach out to the member using your support process to confirm their details before proceeding.

2. Credit the Member's Wallet

  • Go to the Member Search Page in your addy admin view.

  • Search for the member using their addy ID, full name or email.

  • Click the Transactions tab, then select Add Wallet Deposit.

Enter the following:

Field What to Enter
Amount The exact amount received via wire
Date Received The date funds were received in your bank account
Payment Method Select Wire Transfer from the dropdown
Reference Details Add the wire confirmation number or any internal memo for traceability

Click Submit to proceed.

3. Complete Dual Authorization

⚠️ Important: Manually credited transactions are not final until reviewed and approved by a second finance admin.

  • Go to the Manual Transactions Page in your admin panel.

  • Locate the pending transaction.

  • Have a second admin review and approve the transaction.

⚠️ Important:

  1. You cannot approve your own manual transaction. A different admin is required for final approval.
  2. Wire Transfers that are credited to the investor's wallet are considered settled and can be withdrawn by the investor immediately.

Summary

Wire Transfers are a reliable way for members to fund their wallets, but they require manual monitoring and entry by your team. Make sure your wire details are accurate, and always confirm member identity before crediting wallets.
