How to Change Your Legal Name on addy
Need to update your name? Here’s how to reverify your ID so it matches your new legal name.
If your legal name has changed — for example, due to marriage or a legal name change — you’ll need to update it in your addy account. Since your ID must match the name on file for verification purposes, this isn’t something you can update yourself in your settings.
Here’s how to do it:
-
Email support@addyinvest.com
Reach out and request a reset of your ID verification. Just let us know that you need to update your legal name. Note: Please do not send a copy of your ID to this email address.
-
We’ll reset your ID verification
Once your request is processed, we’ll reset your verification status so you can go through the ID process again via your addy account.
-
Reverify using your new legal name
When prompted, complete the identity verification again — this time using ID that shows your updated legal name. Your legal name will need to match the ID, so you need to ensure that you have your new ID to match your name.
Once your new ID is verified, your account will reflect your new name internally.
