Navigating the Data Room
Understanding the data room feature
If you are already familiar with the data room and just want to upload a document, see Uploading documents to the Data Room
There are 3 data rooms available per entity, Legal, Finance and Real Estate. Ensure you have selected the correct data room to review or upload documents.
The data room is split into two halves.
- The document upload feature.
- The categories and documents listing.
As you can see there are a number of pre-selected categories and file types. If you feel a category or file type within that category is not necessary, click the gear button next to that category.
Click on the garbage can button next to either the category or file type to delete it. If the garbage can is a lighter shade of red, a document exists within it and therefor cannot be deleted.
In the above example, the category cannot be deleted because their is a file in type “Consent(s) to act as Director”
If I delete that file by selecting it and clicking delete
I will then be able to delete that category or file type when I go back to it.
Finally, if there is no suitable category you can create it by using the “Add New Category and File Type” feature.
