What is a Parcel Identifier (PID) or Property Identification Number (PIN)?

This identifier is used in land registration systems to uniquely identify and track properties. Each province and territory may have a separate term for this type of unique identifier system.

The PID/PIN typically includes information about the geographic location, size, and ownership of the property, and it is used in real estate transactions, property assessments, and legal documentation.
